View Video Culture and Health Literacy From Arizona Illustrated

An assistant professor in the UA Anthropology Department has received an $837,000 grant from the National Cancer Institute to understand the role culture plays in a person's health literacy.
Health literacy is the ability to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and follow instructions for treatment. A recent government study estimates that 90 million American adults have limited health literacy skills.
