View Video Mission Gardens Re-creating the past

The Mission Gardens project is part of the multi-million dollar "Rio Nuevo" downtown redevelopment plan for Tucson. This plot of land consists of approximately four acres at the base of Sentinel Peak (A Mountain) and has been used for agricultural purposes for centuries.

The city is working on reconstructing the Spanish colonial walled garden that was part of the city's historic San Agustin Mission. When completed, the cultural attraction is slated to have various components including a mission vineyard, O'odham gardens and a statehood era garden.

Tony Paniagua has a look at the project.
