Season 1, Episode 5 of 8 :  Regime Change

The colony is now accustomed to the filth and drudgery of 17th - century life. Although the colonists remain resourceful and good- humored, the strain is beginning to show. As the governor struggles to rule, his colony begins to lose faith in him. Councilor Danny Tisdale decides to leave the disintegrating community. Initial attempts to trade with the Native Americans fail dismally. After the governor and his family hand over their two indentured servants and household belongings to help pay their passage home, the power shifts to lay preacher Don Heinz. New governor Don, and his wife, Carolyn, evict their loyal indentured servant, Jonathon, to give themselves some privacy. The Verdecias move into the new house built by the colony's workforce. As head of the church and state, Governor Heinz has complete power over the colony. Meanwhile, a figure of authority, sent by the sponsoring company, is making his way to the colony.
