Sustainability, locally sourced, farm to fork, water harvesting… all of these are coming together in some “typical backyards” where a growing number of people are turning residential lots into productive mini-farms. Some of the most active are taking place in very urban settings such as Phoenix and Tempe in the “Valley of the Sun” one the nation’s largest metropolitan areas. In this story, we take a look at a couple of locations that are producing fresh food for the owners.
