Pima Prickly Park

There are many undiscovered or little-known places in southern Arizona and Pima Prickly Park is one of them. The seven-acre park is built on a former gravel pit operation that was filled in and is now flourishing with dozens of species that are native and desert-adapted to our area. The park has been open for a few years, is free and open to the public, and provides a learning opportunity for residents. It’s a cooperative effort between Pima County Natural Resources Parks and Recreation and members of the Tucson Cactus and Succulent Society, they are “rehabilitating” some rescued specimens.
