The Youth Engaged Stewardship Program is one good reason for environmental hope. On December 6, 2000, President Clinton signed a bill creating the 42,000-acre Las Cienegas National Conservation Area. That legacy lives on through an inspired team of Arizona youth who are now working to conserve and protect habitat and native species in the wetlands. They are The New Keepers.
