Captain Ross Poldark rides again in a swashbuckling new adaptation of the hit 1970s series. Aidan Turner stars as a redcoat who returns to Cornwall after the American Revolution; Eleanor Tomlinson plays the miner’s daughter taken in by the captain.

Tuesday, August 28
6 p.m. Episode 1

After fighting for England in the American Revolution, Poldark returns home to Cornwall and finds wrenching change. He loses one close friend and gains another.

7 p.m., Episode 2
When the local mine is suddenly closed, hundreds of miners find themselves out of work and desperately poor. With a successful renovation of Nampara underway, Ross resolves to reopen his family's old mine. In the current financial climate, it will be an uphill battle.

Meanwhile, Verity finds romance at a glittering ball, but the promise of love is cut short by secrets, jealousy, and an ill-fated duel.

Wednesday, August 29
6 p.m., Episode 3

There is much to celebrate as the Wheal Leisure mine opens for business, and local couples give birth.

A visitor from Demelza's past prompts Ross and Demelza to make a rash decision, and Ross is soon caught between what he knows to be right and what society dictates.

7p.m., Episode 4
The community awaits news of the fish harvest. Poldark’s copper mine struggles. Demelza must get used to a new way of life.

Thursday, August 30
6 p.m., Episode 5

Poldark and Demelza start a family. Demelza plays matchmaker. The miners riot. And Francis takes desperate measures to recoup his losses.

7 p.m., Episode 6
A mysterious smelting company challenges the local copper barons. Poldark confronts the same cardsharp who swindled Francis.

Friday, August 31
6 p.m. Season One Finale

When Verity makes her move, Poldark is blamed and events spiral out of control. An epidemic leads to tragedy. A shipwreck is both a blessing and a curse.
