Arizona Vietnam Veteran Federico Tapia Shares His Story

Federico Tapia was born in Agua Prieta, Mexico and fought in Vietnam as a soldier in the US Army.

Frederico Tapia was born in Agua Prieta, Mexico and came to Arizona when he was fifteen. Though he couldn’t speak any English and never attended school here, he was drafted into the Army in 1969. Soon, he found himself ferried by helicopter into combat deep in the Vietnamese jungle.

Arizona & The Vietnam War recounts the impact of the era and its defining war on a generation of Southern Arizonans through thought-provoking, personal interviews, and cultural perspectives.
