The psychological distress that the COVID-19 pandemic has engendered, is deeply bound to social isolation and economic insecurity, and has resulted in a global mental health crisis. Without stronger labor laws, social welfare programs, and better access to mental health services, experts predict a rise in stress disorders, suicide rates, and a lack of resiliency needed in order to adapt to and survive this pandemic.
