Supporting Children on the Autism Spectrum

Incorporating Thomas & Friends into the classroom with autism-friendly educational activities on PBS LearningMedia

April is Autism Awareness Month.

Green Thomas Train Hero Thomas & Friends™ has sparked the imagination of young children for generations with classic stories of adventures from the railways on the Island of Sodor.

Many children with autism are drawn to the predictable motion of trains. Thomas & Friends offers educators the opportunity to support the development of fundamental skills in their students with autism, while also tapping into their strengths and interests.

Learn more on incorporating the series into the classroom with resources from the Thomas & Friends Autism Collection on PBS Learning Media.

Thomas & Friends airs weekdays at 10:30am on PBS 6 and daily at 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on PBS Kids.
