"The Picture of Dorian Gray"

The Rogue Theatre offers a new stage adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic tale of timelessness.

At one time or another, we have all daydreamed about possessing immortality. Almost 125 years ago, Oscar Wilde wrote a cautionary tale about that fantasy being corrupted by vanity and selfishness.

In The Picture of Dorian Gray, Wilde envisioned a character who never has to pay a price for his good looks, his decadent lifestyle, or his cruel treatment of others. But the repercussions of his actions are reflected in the grotesque decay of a portrait that Gray keeps hidden away, the source of an obsession that will erode his sanity.

This weekend, a new stage adaptation of Wilde's 'tale of timelessness' opens at the Rogue Theatre in Tucson. The Picture of Dorian Gray was adapted for the stage by director Christopher Johnson, and stars Johnson's long time creative collaborator Dani Dryer in the title role...
