Bryan Barten is a graduate of the University of Arizona who also happens to be a coach and an athlete in wheelchair tennis. Barten made the United States team in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London, and he’s trying to repeat his success in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this year. Barten is one of the Adaptive Athletics coaches at UA’s Disability Resources Center. The program has six competitive teams and has been around for four decades. In addition to Barten, other Tucson residents are hoping to make it to the Paralympic Games, including UA student Dana Mathewson.
