The Pima County Recorder’s office finished validating provisional ballots Thursday, clearing the way for final vote counting by Saturday morning.

Pima County voters cast 21,000 provisional ballots on Election Day. More than 19,000 were deemed eligible for counting.

Provisional ballots are cast on Election Day when there are questions regarding a voter’s registration or if they are in the wrong polling place.

The ballots will bring the county's turnout to more than 75 percent of registered voters.
