Efforts to connect Tucson businesses across the Mexican border have found a new partner: former Mexican President Vicente Fox.

Fox says business ideas need to be cultivated and supported.

“I learned that this world is full of ideas. A huge amount of ideas. But unfortunately, not working orderly."

Fox was in Tucson in recent days to work with business incubator Startup Tucson. He’s helping bring together the Tucson group and his own Startup Mexico.

“Now we have a platform where all these brilliant ideas can reach to be great businesses in the very near future.”

The Small Business Administration has reported that up to 85 percent of all new businesses will fail, primarily due to lack of planning and financial start up capital. Startup Tucson and Startup Mexico say they will help entrepreneurs with both.
