Friends in High Places

Two local volunteer organizations are committed to helping one of Southern Arizona's top attractions.

Friends of Sabino Canyon and Sabino Canyon Volunteer Naturalists are two groups that are dedicated to assisting and promoting Sabino Canyon in the Coronado National Forest. Sabino Canyon is east of Tucson and one of the most popular destinations in Southern Arizona, with more than a million visitors each year. Dave Bushell, president of Friends of Sabino Canyon, and Marybeth Morehart, head of the Sabino Canyon Volunteer Naturalists, share with Tony Paniagua the behind-the-scenes work of protecting a popular natural area.
