Fire Burning North of Bisbee

The brush fire has burned about 40 acres in Zacatecas Canyon, one mile north of downtown, the county said.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Department has put residents on notice about a brush fire burning north of Bisbee.

The fire has burned about 40 acres near Zacatecas Canyon, about one mile north of downtown Bisbee and the Copper Queen Hotel.

Tiffany Davila of the Arizona Department of Forestry says that evacuations aren’t necessarily imminent.

“Cochise County put an area 310 north of Zacatecas canyon road and north of that under pre-evacuation status. That's just a preparer status so nobody needs to leave unless they’re told to so by the sheriff's office.”

Bisbee Police and Fire departments are asking others to avoid the area.
