For the third year in a row, Olivia is the most popular name for newborn girls in Arizona and Liam is the most popular name for newborn boys according to the state Department of Health Services.

ADHS reported that the 10 most popular names for girls and nine of the 10 most popular names for boys are the same as they were in 2021.

The top ten boys names in Arizona in 2022 were Liam, Noah, Mateo, Oliver, Santiago, Elijah, Ezra, Ezekiel, and Julian.

The state says Ezra is new to the list. The name Benjamin dropped out of the top 10 this year to twelfth.

For girls the top ten names in 2022 were Olivia, Emma, Isabella, Sophia, Luna, Mia, Camila, Amelia, Ava, and Charlotte.

Arizona’s most popular names mirror many of the most popular names across the country.

In 2012, five of this year’s most popular names for girls were on the list of popular names. The same is true for four of the most popular names for boys.
