PBS News Weekend

Season 3, Episode 49 of 86

On Saturday, NewsHour Weekend reports from France, where unlike in the United States, the book industry is doing just fine. The French government fixed the price of books years ago and has since taken steps to prevent sales from online companies, such as Amazon, from taking too much of a market share. NewsHour's Megan Thompson explores the special place that books and bookstores occupy in French culture.
