On Saturday, NewsHour Weekend explores the country's many independent contractors, workers like UberX drivers and TaskRabbit assistants who pick up work when they want it. Unlike traditional employees, independent contractors have no guarantee of hourly wages, no benefits and no safety net. But recent class-action lawsuits have alleged that many of the companies who employ these contractors are breaking the rules by misclassifying them as independent. Hari Sreenivasan reports.
