Season 4, Episode 60 of 99

Americans' most consumed fruit - the banana - is facing a blight around the world. The $11-billion banana industry faces a new threat from the virulent Tropical Race 4 disease that is now making its way to South America, where more than 80 percent of the world's Cavendish bananas are grown. On Sunday, NewsHour's Mori Rothman reports from Honduras on how researchers are racing to develop a new, virus-resistant variety of banana before it's too late.
