PBS News Weekend

Season 4, Episode 82 of 99

Texas leads the U.S. in both incarceration rate and number of exonerations of people wrongfully convicted. But the state has recognized that so-called scientific testimony in past cases has been used too frequently to convict. Texas is now implementing the nation's first Junk Science Law, which gives a person convicted with flawed "scientific" evidence an easier route toward retrial. On PBS NewHour Weekend this Sunday, we'll explore how the law works and whether it does enough to help the wrongly convicted clear their names.
