Thomas Edison's Secret Lab

Season 1, Episode 26 of 26

Featuring adventure, comedy and interactive fun, THOMAS EDISON'S SECRET LAB demonstrates that invention can foster creativity, imagination, can-do spirit and positive entrepreneurism. The animated 26-part series, targeted to children ages 5 to 8, seeks to tap into kids' natural curiosity while encouraging them to push conventional scientific and technological boundaries through experimentation. Each episode contains two 11-minute segments, both of which promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) principles. Lead character Angie, a 12-year-old prodigy, is always experimenting and designing new inventions with her brother JD, and two other science-minded friends, Kenty and Nicky. When the bright and resourceful pre-teen cracks a 75-year-old code and discovers the secret underground laboratory of her idol, Thomas Alva Edison, the group uncovers a whimsical machine that creates the hologram of a living, breathing Edison. Voiced by American singer-songwriter Livingston Taylor, Thomas Edison "comes to life" to encourage and inspire the kids in all kinds of scientific and technological explorations, including physical science, live science, earth science, space science and other engaging topics. "The Secret Lab" also transforms into a virtual reality environment which transports the kids to the International Space Station, sends them on a "fantastic voyage" within the human body, and introduces them to visionaries Isaac Newton and Galileo.
