Haiti Hurricane Relief Update - On October 4th, Hurricane Matthew struck Haiti, killing hundreds and leaving widespread destruction across the southern part of the country. It was the strongest storm to hit the region in more than 50 years. Six weeks later, Kim Lawton traveled to Haiti to report on the progress of relief efforts. She spoke with faith-based humanitarian workers about the ongoing immediate needs, as well as their concerns that the devastating impact of the storm on farmers could result in massive food shortages next spring. F.A.R.M. Cafe - In Boone, North Carolina, there is the FARM Cafe. FARM stands for Feed All Regardless of Means, which is precisely what it does. It feeds anyone who wants a meal-and asks in return for an hour of volunteer work, no money. It's the ministry of Renee Boughman, a Christian who felt called five years ago to feed the hungry. So she came up with what she calls a community cafe concept and set up her buffet-style service. She told us she really likes the cafe because "it gives people the chance to practice being human."
