TUSD Superintendent Search: Nic Clement is conducting the search for Tucson Unified School District’s next superintendent. He formerly led the Flowing Wells school district in Tucson, and is an education leadership expert. We interview him about how the search is going, what the public says it wants in the next superintendent, and the next steps. TUSD Board: We ask Tucson Unified school board member Mark Stegeman how the district is faring while the superintendent search proceeds Rosemont Mine: The Hudbay Minerals company is planning to mine copper in the Santa Rita mountains, the oft-talked about Rosemont Mine got one step closer with a federal permit approved this month. We’ll interview Hudbay Vice President Patrick Merrin about what the approval portends, and what’s next. Rosemont Opposition: One of the outspoken opponents of the proposed Rosemont Mine is the Center for Biological Diversity, which works with mine opponent Save the Scenic Santa Ritas. Randy Serraglio talks about whether those groups may appeal the federal Forest Service approval and the remaining steps in the permitting process.
