Boards on the Water

Towed Board Sports

Season 1, Episode 2 of 3

We look at towed boards sports where people do not ride a traditional ski. First is a group of friends that take riding a kneeboard to a whole new level. Then we talk to Mike Murphy who helped invent the hydrofoil ski that rides above the water. Next we see how waterskiing, surfing and skateboarding combined to spawn three new sports. Pros Shaun Murray and Dallas Friday explain how complex tricks are accomplished on a wakeboard. We visit an Orlando cable park and the "The Projects" rail park . We look at how skateboard style moves are done on a wakeskate and see how to wakesurf without the need for an ocean or a towrope. Finally, we go to a wakeboard camp on houseboats in the middle of a California lake.
