Metro Week

Season 4, Episode 49 of 25

This week’s episode of Metro Week is a look back at the biggest stories we covered in 2017. Topics include: -The continuing debate about the future of federal health care policy and what proposed changes could mean for Tucson. -The reactions locals had this year to federal policies. Some of those covered include the city of Tucson’s opposition to more border wall construction, local churches gearing up to accept undocumented immigrants into sanctuary, and local refugee services on the refugee and travel ban implemented earlier this year. -Small towns: we checked in with Sahuarita, Oro Valley, Marana and South Tucson about their plans for the year. -Tucson Unified School District grappled with leadership changes. -University of Arizona also got new leadership, and we covered a controversial plan to add new dorms north of Speedway.
