Oregon's Animation Magic

At just about any moment of any day in Oregon, someone is making animation. The state is home to renowned commercial production houses, award-winning individual artists, and a major animated feature film production studio. This new, half-hour animation special showcases and celebrates the work of animators from around the state, taking viewers behind the scenes of the process and the finished pieces. Featured artists include: Will Vinton, Will Vinton Studios; Joan Gratz, famous for her groundbreaking technique of animated clay painting; Animator Jerold Howard, stop-motion animation; Rose Bond, famous in Portland's independent animation scene; LAIKA President & CEO Travis Knight, behind the scenes of Kubo & the Two Strings These animators discuss their love of the craft, the magic of bringing inanimate objects to life, and being a part of Oregon's unique community of animators.
