PBS News Weekend

Season 8, Episode 58 of 99

Thousands of Americans die each year from gunfire, but the prospect of installing federal gun control laws that might curtail those numbers has become divisive. Meanwhile, state legislators from around the country are beginning to take matters into their own hands, with some states expanding gun rights and others restricting them. And in Oregon, a traditionally gun-friendly state, a group of gun owners and lawmakers say they are looking for a middle ground. NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Joanne Elgart Jennings reports.
