PBS News Weekend

Season 10, Episode 11 of 99

It will be 40 years in August since President Jimmy Carter declared the Niagara Falls neighborhood of Love Canal a national health emergency, helping to spur the creation of the Superfund program to address the nation's worst toxic waste sites. But more than 14 years after Love Canal was deemed remediated, hundreds of past and current residents involved in litigation say that chemicals from the site are continuing to make them sick. NewsHour Weekend's Megan Thompson reports.
