Securing Our Future: Nuclear Alternative

Episode 1 of 1

In his 2007 and 2008 State of the Union Addresses, President George W. Bush reiterated his course of action for reducing our nation's dependence on costly and unreliable sources of energy, such as foreign-produced oil and natural gas. The President suggested development of alternative energy sources, including the "next generation" of nuclear power plants, to meet our nation's growing demand for electricity. The program's format is a fast-paced dialogue, hosted by John King, CNN National Correspondent. The content is enhanced and "humanized" with set-up and transitional field pieces produced by ETV. Three distinct inserts: 1) Introduce the topic; 2) Examine nuclear energy from a utility company's perspective; and 3) Capture diverse perspectives from participants at a recent national conference on nuclear energy.
