Season 10, Episode 53 of 99

Justice Halim Dhanidina is the most senior judge in the U.S. who is practicing Islam. After more than a decade with the Los Angeles District Attorney's office and time on the L.A. County Superior Court, Justice Halim Dhanidina selection this year to the California Court of Appeals made him the most senior judge in the United States who professes Islam. But his years on the bench as a practicing Muslim have not been without their challenges. NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent David Tereshchuk spoke with Dhanidina about engaging with his critics and supporters, and setting an example for what it looks like to be a Muslim judge in America.
