Season 10, Episode 56 of 99

A documentary looks at the lives of transgender people serving in the U.S. military. As the debate over the ban on transgender people serving in the military continues in America's courts, the documentary "TransMilitary," released this week on iTunes, tells the story of what life is like for trans troops. The film follows four transgender military personnel as they cope with the military's shifting policies and risk their careers by coming out as trans to lobby for eliminating the ban. NewsHour Weekend's Megan Thompson spoke with one of the film's main characters, and the film's co-producer and director.
