Season 10, Episode 65 of 99

Revisiting downtown Winnsboro in South Carolina three years after Walmart left. For nearly 20 years retailers in downtown Winnsboro, South Carolina were unable to compete with Walmart's cheap products and one-stop shopping. So when NewsHour Weekend's Christopher Booker visited in 2016, reporting on news that the superstore was closing, town leaders had high hopes for revitalization. Three years later, Booker visited Main Street again to find less optimism and a downtown that is it still very much in the shadow of the corporation.
