Season 10, Episode 66 of 99

With the potential end to Temporary Protective Status in the U.S., can the country handle an influx of deportees? In 2010, a devastating earthquake killed more than 200,000 Haitians and displaced 1.5 million more, creating an unprecedented health crisis that helped lead the United States to grant citizens of the island-nation Temporary Protective Status. But with plans by the Trump administration to eliminate TPS later this year, 60,000 Haitians now living and working in the U.S. face the prospect of deportation. NewsHour Weekend's Ivette Feliciano recently traveled to Haiti, where she profiled one doctor who has been on the front lines of the country's ever-changing health challenges, and to look at whether Haiti is prepared for the potential influx of deportees.
