PBS News Weekend

Season 10, Episode 99 of 99

After more than 50 years of performing the famed musician continues his rhythmic tradition with a new album and tour. It was 20 years ago this month that Carlos Santana released what would become one of the biggest hit albums in music history: the Grammy-winning classic, "Supernatural." But 2019 also marks additional landmark dates for the famed guitarist and the band that bears his name, including the 50th anniversary of both the release of the first Santana album and the group's legendary performance at Woodstock. And on Friday, the band will release its latest album, accompanied by summer tour dates. NewsHour Weekend's Tom Casciato recently spoke with Santana about his storied musical career for the first of two NewsHour Weekend pieces this summer.
