In this first episode, Jerry takes his viewers through the process of understanding how to compose a still life painting using multiple research photos. Then proceeds to show how to underpaint the background grasses using the 2-inch hake brush. Then uses the #6 chisel-edge brush to paint in middle-tone individual weeds. He finishes by showing how to underpaint the inside of the basket and the outer sides of the basket.
