In this final segment, Jerry explains the difference in different colors of red and how and what they are used for in various paintings. He then begins showing how to use certain brushes to apply the different colors and details to the woodpecker's body. He explains the process of layering colors to achieve the desired degree of brightness and detail. He then shows his viewers how to use the chisel-edge, synthetic brushes to apply the bark and highlights to the stump and limbs.
