The property expert visits Hopetoun House in the Scottish Lowlands, and investigates the huge amount of time, money and resources that led to its creation. Having made a fortune from lead mining, the Hopetoun family spent big on its country pile, employing not one, but two celebrated Scottish architects. Phil inspects the lavish rooms, many of which are unchanged since Georgian times and meets the staff and tours the 6500-acre estate.
