DELTA VARIANT & SCHOOLS: Former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Richard Carmona discusses how an increase in COVID-19 cases linked to the spread of the delta variant poses challenges for schools as students return. Carmona oversees the University of Arizona’s COVID-19 response. EVICTION MORATORIUM: After the Biden administration announced an extension to a moratorium on evictions in areas with high COVID transmission rates, Arizona 360 learns what that means for renters and landlords in Pima County from Daniel Sullivan who oversees the Tucson Pima County Eviction Prevention Program. TEMPORARY HOUSING: Tony Paniagua reports on new efforts from the city of Tucson to expand transitional housing for the homeless and low-income residents. MINIMUM WAGE ACT: Arizona 360 hears from proponents and opponents of an initiative voters in Tucson will consider in November to raise the city’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2025.
