AFGHAN NATIVE: Atifa Rawan, an Afghan American, and UA Library Sciences professor emerita has traveled to Afghanistan 15 times since 2002. In her own words and pictures Rawan shares insight on her upbringing in Afghanistan and her most recent work in the region. MIDDLE EASTERN VIOLENCE: What does the US withdrawal from Afghanistan mean for the Middle East and what are the future implications for the US? This week Daniel Rothenberg, ASU professor of practice in School of Politics and Global Studies and Co-Director of the Center on the Future of War offers analysis on the program. CHILD TAX CREDIT: The Child Tax Credit program is in full swing across the country. This week Georgina Monsalvo, the Arizona Organizing Director for Stand for Children Arizona describes how the program is impacting 1.4 million Arizona families. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: Habitat for Humanity, a longtime organization dedicated to supporting families in Arizona has continued to meet housing needs despite the pandemic. This week Tony Paniagua visits a new site and speaks with a homeowner. COVID ECONOMY: The dip in unemployment claims and a booming housing market have positioned Arizona to do well as federal subsidies related to Covid 19 begin to wind down. Professor and economist George Hammond from UA Eller College of Management analyzes the states latest economic trends.
