Lunar New Year: Mission Garden and the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center teamed up in February to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This is a major event in many parts of the world. The day included traditional foods, a Chinese yo-yo demonstration, lion dance, tea ceremony, and more. Homestretch: What does it take to be a pro-female endurance athlete? Among other things, it takes time, training, and self careā€”all of which require funds that are tough to come by for female endurance athletes. The Homestretch Foundation provides housing, training, and mentorship for elite female endurance athletes to thrive and seeks to close the gender pay gap. Goat Yoga! We all look for ways to deal with stress and support our physical and mental wellbeing. Many find Yoga can do just that. Still others find it an even a more restorative experience when, while stretching, they are receiving a relaxing back massage by little goat hooves! We spend the day with Emily Hadden who raises Nigerian dwarf goats for animal therapy and hosts a goat yoga class. Stretch. Cuddle. Relax. with Goat Yoga! Sabino Canyon: Flowing water in the desert is often hard to fight but there's a place in Tucson that provides a dependable aquatic environment most of the year. Sabino Dam is an easy walk about a mile from the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center provides an accessible oasis to tens of thousands of people in our community each year.
