Henry Butler is not only a virtuoso jazz and blues artist, but also a passionate educator, photographer and advocate for disability rights. Drawing on his New Orleans heritage, extensive music study and experience as a blind black man, Butler founded the Creative Music and Jazz camp and crafted an eclectic curriculum that encouraged students to see art and music as tools for survival. THE MUSIC'S GONNA GET YOU THROUGH tracks the impact of Butler's music and philosophy on a group of blind and visually impaired teens who gather in New Orleans to train with the master at his week-long summer camp. Butler tells his students they can achieve success by applying the musical principles of focus, discipline, release, practice and perseverance to their everyday lives. THE MUSIC'S GONNA GET YOU THROUGH shows how valuable music and its lessons can be for both students and teacher alike.
