It's A Big Big World

Bones/Food And Plenty Of It

Season 1, Episode 25 of 40

Bones: As Winslow races off to get his day started, he runs into a branch and hurts his arm. After a visit to Madge, he learns that he has bruised his arm bone and needs to keep it in a sling to let it heal. He doesn't want his injury to slow him down, though, and he continues swinging until he has both his arm and his leg in a cast! EDUCATIONAL NOTES: Bones - Bones make up our skeleton and together they hold us up, give our bodies shape, and make us strong. It is important to take care of our bones. Different animals have different types of bones and some animals don't have any. Food and Plenty of It: Burdette is very upset - all of the nuts on her favorite tree are gone! Even after Snook suggests she try something new to eat, she is determined to wait until more nuts grow back on that tree. However, talking so much about food makes Burdette even hungrier, so when Snook offers to sprinkle some nuts on his Papaya Pie, Burdette decides she's ready to try something new after all. EDUCATIONAL NOTES: Different Foods - All animals need to eat food to survive. When there aren't enough of our favorite foods, we need to look at alternatives - the foods we may not like as much but that are nutritious for us.
