This Old House Hour

Season 11, Episode 21 of 26

Kevin and Roger dig for clams, then finish up the barrier-free walk that leads to the house using both granite and bluestone, but no steps. The standing-seam metal roof goes on, and Richard's creative ducting and plumbing will minimize the number of holes that need to go through it. A non-reactive lightning protection system is installed. In the second half of the hour, on ASK THIS OLD HOUSE, Richard and Kevin install a ductless heat pump to heat and cool a bonus room. Tom shares a viewer tip for driving eye screws. Then, master electrician Scott Caron demonstrates new technologies and applications for LED lighting. And Roger learns how to select houseplants for different situations.
