Sitting next to Leila Cobo, Emmanuel reminisces about his career as both a bullfighter and a singer. He remembers that when he was 13 years old, he decided to dedicate his life to bulls. Of course, everyone at home opposed this idea. He also admits that the first time he ever sang in public, he did not feel scared. Instead, he felt nervous because he had already been very frightened in the bullring. Even today, he feels the same nervousness every time he walks onto the stage. The Mexican singer-songwriter says that his movements on stage are not simply dancing but are an expression by his body related to what he is feeling at that moment of performing. It is what his body is asking for. Emmanuel believes his songs are still listened to because they have substance and because their authors put their souls into the lyrics.
