"When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade." Alex Scott, Founder, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Alex Scott was just four years old when she decided she wanted to help kids like her who were suffering from childhood cancer. She started a Lemonade Stand in her front yard to raise money for childhood cancer research. News of her efforts spread as her sweet voice spoke to people of all ages. They began holding their own Lemonade Stands to support her cause. By the time she passed away at the age of eight, one million dollars had been raised. Today, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is one of the leading Childhood Cancer Research Foundations, having raised over 50 million dollars to date. Liz and Jay Scott, her parents, remain at the helm of the foundation. They tell the story of Alex, and how they remain committed to her dream and her legacy.
