Probation for Profit - In many jurisdictions in the U.S., courts appoint private for-profit probation companies to collect fines and oversee the conduct of individuals accused of violations. As Lucky Severson reports, this can lead to the jailing for months or even years of individuals with relatively small fines that with fees and interest charges balloon to amounts they cannot afford to pay. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson's Legacy - The spiritual leader of the Chabad Lubavitch Hassidic movement, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, "the Rebbe," died 20 years, but his legacy continues to touch Orthodox and non-Orthodox Jews and non-Jews as well. Although no successor has been named, the Lubavitcher movement has tripled in size since Schneerson's death, with Chabad centers in 49 states and 80 countries. Kim Lawton looks at Schneerson's ongoing impact.
