PBS News Weekend

Season 3, Episode 6 of 86

On Sunday, NewsHour Weekend reports from Hungary to examine the plight of the Gypsy, or Roma, people amid a slew of housing evictions by the local government -- the latest chapter in a long history of strained relations between the two groups. While local officials maintain the government is working to slowly improve conditions for the ethnic minority, the Roma, on the other hand, say they've been abandoned by it. NewsHour Weekend's Stephen Fee reports from the city of Miskolc where the majority of Roma citizens live in poverty. That, and the weekend's news, online and on-air.
