Southern Arizona is a premiere astronomical destination, due in large part to the city's Dark Sky Initiative. As a result, photographing the cosmos is a popular activity. Astrophotography is a specialized type of photography for recording photos of astronomical objects and large areas of the night sky. Tucson is home to some of the most well-known "space photographers" because of its dark skies - starting this week, we will introduce you to two.
Meet Adam Block. Adam works at UA’s Mt Lemmon Skycenter and is the co-founder of its stargazing programs. He writes for Astronomy Magazine and has been recognized by Time magazine, for his talents, and has had several of his images featured on NASA's popular site, *Astronomy Picture of the Day*.
