From the Vault: Green Valley Incorporation 1994

Green Valley sits about 20 miles south of Tucson and 40 miles north of Nogales. The famed southern Arizona retirement community is surrounded by copper mines and golf courses, with hiking, biking and birding opportunities in the nearby Santa Rita Mountain range. In 1994, Green Valley residents voted on incorporation. Opinions were varied and often quite heated.
